Frequently Asked Strawberry Shipping Questions

Note: Special pages for all FAQ topics are listed on the left
Our default nationwide shipping is the higher level of
service that others charge a surcharge for. Using this level of service gets
the packages delivered sooner so there is less chance things can go wrong in
transit. It’s this level of attention to detail that helps make our berries so
much better.

Q)Do you offer free shipping? If you look into it you would find that the lure of free shipping was used to con the customers into what is called the 'easy saver scam' (and other similar scams), we don't do that. Flying packages around the country is never free. FedEx and UPS charge to deliver packages. Other sites that offer “free shipping” on chocolate covered Strawberries raised the prices about $20 for a single box of Strawberries, and then can tack on holiday, warm weather or rush fees at checkout (why? it's always warm somewhere).
It’s not really free if you raised the prices to cover it, In fact it is against the law: (FTC rules) 'included' and 'free' are two separate things.
In some areas shipping is tax free and by adding the shipping into the product cost they are making you pay higher taxes.
Shipping is based on what the carriers(FedEx/UPS) charge us, we don’t make money on shipping and we don't hide the shipping in the product cost. As a customer your shipment could actually be half of what someone pays with the so called “Free” shipping, and it's always less than $20 for a single box, except for Saturday delivery or during the hotest summer months when we are trying to prevent melting. (Even the fake "free shipping" companies charge extra for Saturday Delivery since both FedEx and UPS charge extra for that service).

Q) When will the product arrive? You can see basic available delivery dates in the calendar at the top of the page. the live calendar is on the check out page with your delivery address. You select the delivery date and service level at checkout and barring problems listed in the terms and conditions the following is a general guideline:
Priority Overnight: (our default) Strawberries/Fruit for a business: Generally by Noon but for extrem rural areas it can be as late as 5PM. Strawberries/Fruit for a residence: Generally by Noon, but for rural areas it may be as late as the FedEx/UPS end of day. Floral: for most of the country, generally by noon, for extreme rural areas it can be later in the day. Saturday delivery is generally by Noon, but can be as late as 4:30PM for rural areas. Saturday delivery is not available in extrem rural areas. Overnight Ground: If you select (and the shipment is eligible) the discounted delivery times are 5PM to a business, and before the end of day for a residence. Two or Three day delivery. Same delivery times as Discounted Overnight. This method is only available for the less-perishable items such as cookies and non-fruit and non-floral items. All perishable items such as strawberries or floral have to be sent with the quicker methods to preserve freshness.
With 10's of thousands of packages delivered every day by each of the major carriers: they can not accept special requests.

Q) How do I get a shipping quote? Chocolate melts and shipping strawberries by a less expensive method does not meet our higher standards. We want everybody to be happy and no one would be happy if the strawberries were sent by by a method that would take 3 or more days to arrive. (try putting some strawberries in your cars trunk for 3 or 4 days.. ).
An exact shipping quote is provided during the checkout process, before you have to enter any credit card information.
The cost of shipping depends on what you are shipping; some products, like chocolate covered strawberries, require shorter times in transit than the less perishable products like cookies. We always ship the most perishable products using methods that have the highest chance of making the trip without delay; we will not try to save a few dollars at the expense of unhappy customers. This results in a product that we can be proud of and a better experience for those that know the difference. |
How do you ship chocolate covered strawberries nationwide? First: We always use gel packs to keep the product cool and protected all year round, some competitors don't, the problem with this is you never know when a package will be left on a heater vent or routed through a warm southern city. During the warm summer months we use larger gel packs. Second: Our specially designed gift packaging hold the chilled berries secure inside a sealed insulated container. Third: We always ship using the quickest methods available so that the package has the highest possible chance of arriving in perfect condition. |

Which countries do you ship to? We ship only inside the United States. (including parts of Alaska & Hawaii, but not including territories and protectorates like Puerto Rico and Guam)
Every country limits how fresh produce is
imported, if we attempted delivery our products outside the US they
would be stopped and seized at customs.
Our overnight service covers most of the United States. Areas that are extremely rural may not have the overnight service needed to make sure our perishable products arrive in the condition possible. The areas available for Saturday delivery are even more limited. If we find that our carriers do not offer the service level needed for your delivery we will let you know.

Where can't you ship? Anywhere outside the USA PO Boxes of any type (PO, APO, Rural route..) Schools:For grade school, middle school and high schools do not send to students unless the school approves it, the schools may refuse the shipment as they can disrupt classes.
University post office boxes: check with the University, some accept packages, some don't. You must include the school name. Also: many university post offices are run by students and do not open on time so FedEx/UPS may not be able to deliver the package on the day scheduled.
Rural Route Addresses with only a Box number : we need a physical address not a box.
Apartment complexes are not recommended unless someone will be at the address, since they are very insecure and the drivers do not want to leave the packages unattended,
Extremely rural areas not served with overnight service |

How do I track my order? The day your order ships and email is generated with your tracking number and a link that can be used to see the current status of your shipment. Useful tracking information is generally available around 10PM the night of the shipment and it will continue to be updated until the package is delivered. In some areas the tracking updates are not real time and updates can be delayed several hours.
