About Us

After 6 years of research and product development CCBerries first opened on February 4th, 2004.Over the years we've moved from being a local Marietta merchant to a nationwide provider of custom chocolate covered strawberries. In 2008 CCBerries became the trade name of CCB Radiance LLC.

As the business changed we did a lot of research and found out a lot about the industry.
The most obvious thing was that most of our competitors were not using chocolate.

We only use gourmet chocolate,  and always use gel packs to protect the product from excessive heat. Even during the coldest of winter months you never know when a package will be routed through a warm weather city or will end up sitting on a heater vent before delivery.

Some of our competitors cut corners by not using gel packs throughout the year or ship using a less expensive 2 day delivery service. We want the product to arrive in the best possible condition, so we always use gel packs and only ship so that it arrives the day after it is made.

Always using gel packs results in a better protected shipment and a heavier shipment. Since the cost of overnight shipping is really based on distance and weight our shipping may be more expensive than some competitors that cut corners on packaging, gel packs or product quality.

Our Promises to You:

1) We promise never to call black foam "Velvet" or "plush". One of our competitors was caught doing this, we figure that's just not right and when someone starts misrepresenting the product you never know when they'll stop.

2) Our "Milk", "White" and "Dark" chocolate is real gourmet chocolate, meeting FDA guidelines for what is allowed to be called "Chocolate", some of our competitors use a vegetable oil based confectioners coating instead of cocoa butter based chocolate and then try to pass it off as chocolate. All of our chocolate is tempered and contains cocoa butter like real chocolate should. A "dip" made by a chocolate manufacture is not the same as real chocolate.

3) All our pictures are the real thing. We will never employ a food stylist to put on more toppings, or trim the coconut to one length just for a pretty picture. What you see on the web site is exactly what you will get. We dip all the way to the leaves to protect the berries in transit, why don't our competitors?

4) "Strawberries & Chocolates" (or "Chocolates & Strawberries" or "Chocolate candy") is not the same as "Chocolate Covered Strawberries", some companies are using this variation to get around the rules for false advertising, but then still have their ads show under the search term "chocolate covered strawberries".

5) Gourmet chocolate is not found in tiny chips in the baking section of your local grocery. The companies that use real gourmet chocolate are proud of it, will use it in thier ads and on thier web site.

6) All of our chocolate is tempered chocolate. Real chocolate tastes better than a vegetable oil based coating, making a much better product.

7) If you don't see the word "Chocolate" on a competitor's main web page they are probably using a confectioners coating, but we did see one company actually put "Chocolate" on their page header when the ingredient list showed they didn't use it. Some of the companies who don't use real chocolate in their chocolate covered strawberries are listed here, for others you can always ask them if their ingredient label has cocoa butter listed in the white, milk and dark chocolate.
